Valeo made its debut at ACT Expo 2026, North America’s premier event for advanced vehicle technology and clean transportation, presenting an integrated portfolio of electric truck ADAS technology and software-defined vehicle systems. The four-day event ran May 4–7 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, with Valeo using the platform to position itself as a systems partner for commercial vehicle manufacturers facing simultaneous pressure from emissions regulations and rising automation expectations.

Electric truck ADAS technology targeting level 4 autonomy

The centrepiece of Valeo’s commercial vehicle strategy at the show was its ADAS portfolio scaled to Level 4 autonomy. The Valeo Smart Safety 360 (VSS360) formed the company’s dedicated truck solution within a broader compute range spanning ADAS domain controllers and single-SoC units combining ADAS and in-vehicle infotainment through to modular multi-domain central compute units.

Sensor performance underpinned each of these platforms. Valeo presented specialised cleaning systems for LiDARs and cameras to ensure visibility in harsh environments. The Valeo anSWer platform acted as the digital intelligence hub within the portfolio, enabling crowd-sourced mapping, teleoperated remote operations, and map-based parking. Together, these elements formed a scalable architecture spanning individual components through to complete turnkey systems for all automation levels.

Electrification and cab safety rounded out the portfolio

On the propulsion side, Valeo exhibited the EDC-120 electric compressor with integrated inverter, developed specifically for electric bus and truck segments, alongside smart heat pumps, inverters, on-board chargers, and e-propulsion systems. These products reflected Valeo’s stated goal of optimising total cost of ownership for fleet operators through improved fuel economy and uptime.

Cab technology received equal attention. The Driver Monitoring System (DMS) tracks driver drowsiness and distraction to meet GSR II and NCAP 2026 requirements. A 42-inch ultra-wide display provides the central interface for next-generation truck cabins, while Hands-On-Detection (HOD) manages safe transitions between manual and automated driving modes, also reducing the number of steering wheel variants required during manufacturing. Ultra-Wide Band technology uses hyper-accurate proximity detection to transform smartphones into secure keys, preventing relay attacks.

Valeo positions for a rapidly shifting market

The commercial vehicle market produced 18 million units globally in 2025, with light commercial vehicles accounting for over 75% of that total and medium and heavy-duty trucks and other segments making up the remainder. Valeo framed its ACT Expo presence against a sector under transformation. Electric trucks are expected to capture a significant share of the global market by 2030, and autonomous trucking is expected to grow rapidly in the next decade, including in the United States.

“Our presence at ACT Expo 2026 underscores Valeo’s role as a key technological partner for the commercial vehicle industry,” said Detlef Juerss, Valeo Chief Sales and Business Development Officer. “We are not just supplying parts. We are leveraging our hardware and software expertise to provide the integrated systems and solutions that will make sustainable, safe and autonomous trucking a commercial reality.”

Valeo’s ACT Expo debut followed sustained investment across its Power, Brain, and Light divisions. The company reported €20.9 billion in sales in 2025 and operates 59 R&D centres across 29 countries.
