Isuzu UK has officially launched the D-Max EV in right-hand drive at the Commercial Vehicle Show 2026, making it the first electric pick-up truck in the UK to combine over 1-tonne payload, 3.5-tonne towing capacity, and permanent four-wheel drive. Powered by a 66.9 kWh lithium-ion battery and dual permanent magnet motors producing 149.3 kW and 347.6 Nm of torque, the D-Max EV targets fleet operators and commercial professionals seeking a zero-emissions workhorse. UK deliveries begin May 2026, priced from £59,995 ex. VAT.

The dual-motor setup splits output between a 45.9 kW front unit and a 103.4 kW rear unit, delivering 0–62 mph in 10.1 seconds and a top speed of 84 mph. Full-time four-wheel drive comes standard, with four selectable regenerative charging levels and an optional Eco drive mode to extend the 163-mile WLTP combined range, which rises to 223.9 miles in city driving conditions.
Charging covers three scenarios. From a home single-phase supply, a full charge takes ten hours at 7 kW. A three-phase public AC connection at 11 kW completes a full charge in six hours. For operators needing faster turnaround, a 50 kW DC rapid charger takes the battery from 20% to 80% in one hour.
Fleet electrification without capability compromise
The D-Max EV is built on the latest-generation strengthened ladder chassis and features a new De-Dion semi-independent suspension system. Isuzu states this reduces cabin noise and vibration under full acceleration by up to 10%. Ground clearance sits at 210 mm, water wading reaches 600 mm, and off-road approach and departure angles measure 30.5 and 24.2 degrees respectively, with Rough Terrain Mode standard across all variants.
Prior to the right-hand drive launch, Isuzu UK trialled a left-hand drive version in partnership with National Grid Electricity Distribution, testing the vehicle across challenging UK terrains including towing and winching operations. Two trim levels cover the range. The eDL40, available in Extended and Double Cab, includes an 8-inch infotainment system, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, Bi-LED headlights, and leather upholstery. The eV-Cross Double Cab steps up to a 9-inch infotainment system and eight-speaker audio. All variants carry a five-year, 125,000-mile vehicle warranty, an eight-year, 125,000-mile battery warranty, and EU and UK roadside assistance.
Alan Able, Managing Director of Isuzu UK, said the D-Max EV provides commercial operators with a fully electric pick-up that retains the reliability, comfort, and versatility of the D-Max platform while supporting businesses working towards decarbonisation. Deliveries begin May 2026.
