Production Engineer (m/f/d)

Overview

Samsung SDI Battery Systems is hiring a Production Engineer for its technology centre in Kalsdorf bei Graz, where the company develops, tests, and industrialises lithium-ion battery systems for hybrid and electric vehicles alongside automotive industry customers. The role sits within industrialisation and production technology, covering everything from production concept planning through to series ramp-up support. It’s a cross-functional position spanning DFM/DFMEA collaboration with product development, equipment procurement coordination, and hands-on problem-solving during production build phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product development/design (DFM) and contribute to DFMEA/PFMEA processes
• Create and align production concepts (prototype build/series) with relevant stakeholders
• Ensure production readiness for prototype builds
• Coordinate and support production technology set-ups
• Create and align work instructions, layout, and process planning
• Coordinate and track procurement of production technology equipment, tools, and fixtures, from specification creation through to acceptance and handover
• Evaluate concepts and changes for cost, timeline, and risk implications
• Monitor and ensure achievement of cost, timeline, and quality targets against project milestones
• Support series ramp-up and problem-solving

Requirements

Essential: several years of planning experience in the e-mobility production planning environment (process and equipment planning concepts); independent, self-directed, and goal-oriented working style; organisational talent with strong communication skills and team orientation; flexibility, an open-minded mentality, and resilience; good German and English language skills.
Desirable: a degree from an HTL (technical college) or university, ideally in production or automation technology.
