Overview

ZF Group is hiring a Quality Engineer for its eMobility division at the Gray Court, South Carolina manufacturing facility — a plant dedicated to electric driveline and transmission products that sit at the heart of ZF’s next-generation mobility strategy. The role owns quality compliance across manufacturing processes and product lines, applying structured problem-solving and continuous improvement disciplines within an automotive-grade quality system. With ZF’s eMobility division scaling rapidly to meet electrification demand, this position carries direct responsibility for protecting customers and driving root cause resolution on electric powertrain components. It offers a route into one of the most consequential manufacturing quality roles in the US EV supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to corporate quality standards and automotive/customer requirements
  • Monitor and evaluate manufacturing processes and product quality for specification compliance
  • Develop, maintain, and retain quality documentation including procedures, risk analyses, audits, recalls, complaints, scrap, and rework records
  • Interpret engineering drawings and measurement requirements including GD&T; support engineering changes for quality compliance
  • Provide guidance and training to manufacturing personnel on quality systems, tools, and best practices
  • Apply quality, problem-solving, lean, and continuous improvement tools to drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally, escalate issues when necessary, and support team objectives to protect customers
  • Act with an auditor mindset focused on compliance and improvement; support special projects and additional assigned duties
Requirements

Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; 3–4 years of relevant experience (internships and co-ops included); strong knowledge of engineering concepts, techniques, practices, and design principles; experience with engineering change management systems and product lifecycle processes; proven problem-solving ability using sound judgement aligned with established standards and policies; high level of analytical thinking, creativity, and attention to detail; ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel and management; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint); excellent verbal and written English communication and presentation skills.

Desirable: Experience in an automotive or electric powertrain manufacturing environment; familiarity with GD&T interpretation and measurement systems.
